Komen® Nebraska recently announced that ten organizations across Nebraska have received community grants totaling $577,600 collectively. Organizations receiving grants will provide breast health education, breast cancer screening and treatment services starting now through March 2016.
At OneWorld the grant from Komen Nebraska will support patient navigation, and screening and treatment, an initiative focused on increasing access to breast health exams and education in the Omaha area. The program will provide breast health education and clinical breast exams for low-income women, and help women access resources and services available for other screenings, necessary referrals, follow-up services and treatment.
“This grant allows OneWorld providers to continue to expand the reach of care offered to the women in our communities,” said OneWorld CEO Andrea Skolkin. “It’s grants like these from Susan G. Komen Nebraska that allow for early detection and treatment of breast cancer, and ultimately more lives saved.”
