Dr. Anpo Charging Thunder graduated from UNMC Medical School in 2008. She finished her UNMC Family Medicine residency in 2011 and saw patients at OneWorld between 2007 and 2011.
Dr. Charging Thunder then moved to the Nebraska Panhandle where she practiced for two years at the Community Action Program of Western Nebraska Community Health Clinic and Regional West Medical Center hospital in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Dr. Charging Thunder is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Her mother is Carol Iron Rope Herrera and her father is Tillo Suarez Herrera. She is married to Dave Charging Thunder and they have six children ranging in age from 6 to 24 years. They also have two grandchildren, aged 10 months and 18 months.
Dr. Charging Thunder returned to Omaha to be closer to family and came back to OneWorld because, she said, “community health is where my heart is and OneWorld has always made me feel welcome and as part of the family.”
Dr. Katherine Kusek, D.D.S. graduated from Creighton Dental School in 2011 and began her private practice in Albion, Nebraska in 2012. Dr. Kusak volunteered at OneWorld between 2007 and 2011.
Outside of work, Dr. Kusak likes to read, go on walks, and bake with her mother and sister. “I make pies, my sister makes cookies, and my mother makes everything!” she said.
“I was drawn to OneWorld by the opportunity to work with the most diverse population that Omaha has to offer. I am also excited about the possibility to work with other skilled and caring dentists,” Dr. Kusak said.
