The Enrichment Foundation is a local foundation founded by Connie O’Neil, a sibling of an individual who had Cerebral Palsy. According to the foundation’s website, O’Neil’s sister was able to live a full and happy life, so the purpose of the foundation is to “enrich the lives of other families so that they can be similarly blessed.”
The Enrichment Foundation’s purpose is to reduce the physical and mental needs of those individuals who are unable to care for themselves as well as the physical and mental needs of their families. Their board works with the Omaha Community Foundation to award grants to organizations that assist in providing sufficient resources to individuals with disabilities and their families.
OneWorld has been fortunate to receive grants from the Enrichment Foundation since 2009. The Foundation’s contributions allow OneWorld to assist patients who have physical and mental health impairments that limit major life activities. With the funds received in 2017 alone, we anticipate that 400 unique OneWorld patients with disabilities will receive assistance with the costs of medical equipment, supplies, medications and home supports that are not covered by other sources. Our hope is that, with these funds, patients will also achieve improved health outcomes such as controlled blood sugar or blood pressure for diabetes and hypertension, respectively; pharmacological plans for asthma and follow-up for depression.
Thank you to The Enrichment Foundation for helping our low-income, uninsured patients who have disabilities receive needed supplies and prescriptions without having to worry about the cost of care!
