The Health Insurance Marketplace’s Open Enrollment dates for 2018 are November 1 – December 15, so in that time frame, people who need to sign up for health insurance can visit HealthCare.gov to sign up for a 2018 health insurance plan. Plans offered at HealthCare.gov cover doctor visits, hospital stays, preventive care, prescription drugs and more.
Enrolling for health insurance can be complicated and confusing. In order to enroll, people will need to being the following to their appointments:
• Social Security Number (and immigration documents for legal immigrants)
• Employer and income information for every member of the household (for example, pay stubs or W2 forms – Wage and Tax Statements)
• Policy information on health insurance if a person has it from a job or another source
