MAT can also be used to treat people with alcohol use disorders and smoking addictions.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Medication<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We prescribe FDA-approved medications including Buprenorphine and Suboxone based on each patient\u2019s individual needs. The prescribed medications act to block the euphoric effects of alcohol and opioids, relieve cravings and normalize body functions without the negative effects that accompany the abused drug.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Behavioral Health<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Research shows that combining medication and behavioral health services can successfully treat substance use disorders and help sustain recovery. Different patients may need different types of behavioral health services.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Other Important Information<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Before using MAT, tell your <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">clinician<\/span> if you are currently taking anxiety medications including derivatives of Benzodiazepine such as xanax or valium.
