OneWorld School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) are full-service clinics right where children need them, at six SBHCs across the metro area. On-site access to health care helps kids stay healthy and on track with their education. Centers are open year-round to students in the Omaha Public Schools and Westside Community Schools districts, as well as their siblings. Our dedicated and talented team is here for your students and families.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\t What can a School-Based Health Center do?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Staff at SBHCs can diagnose and\/or treat many common conditions, such as:<\/span><\/p>\n Our team also provides:<\/span><\/p>\n Who can use SBHCs?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n School-Based Health Centers are open to all OPS and Westside students; their siblings ages 0-18 years; early childhood participants in Head Start, Educare and ECS Network of Excellence; and OPS and Westside staff.<\/span><\/p>\n How do I enroll my child in SBHC services?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Simply complete consent-to-treat and health history forms, then return them. The forms are available from the school, school nurse and SBHC.<\/span><\/p>\n What are my payment options?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n SBHCs accept most types of insurance, including private insurance and Medicaid. If your child is uninsured, we will work with you to reduce the fee. We will see all children regardless of ability to pay.<\/span><\/p>\n Can my child get behavioral health care at SBHCs?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Yes, all SBHC providers have attended REACH training, which is an intensive pediatric mental health course. We have experience and confidence in managing mental health needs. In addition, a child psychiatrist and other mental health professionals visit SBHCs regularly.<\/span><\/p>\n If I enroll my child in SBHC services, can they still visit the school nurse?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Yes. Our unique partnership with each school and school nurse means kids have access to a caring medical professional when they need it.<\/span><\/p>\n Our staff is able to see children when they\u2019re sick at school; when they need a physical or immunization to stay in school; and when they need ongoing care to stay healthy and well.<\/span><\/p>\n What information is needed for my child\u2019s first appointment?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Bring immunization records; private insurance or Medicaid card; pay stubs if a reduced fee is needed; and consent-to-treat and health history forms if these are not on file.<\/span><\/p>\n If your child gets sick during the school day, your school nurse will contact you and coordinate care with the SBHC staff.<\/span><\/p>\n How do I make an appointment?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Call your SBHC or school nurse to schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n Services are available to all OPS and Westside students, regardless of the school they attend. Students\u2019 siblings under the age of 19 can also receive care at the clinics. Children enrolled in early childhood programs at Head Start, Educare and Early Child Services\u2019 Network of Excellence can also receive care at our School-Based Health Centers.<\/p>\n OneWorld School-Based Health Centers are located inside five OPS schools and one Westside school:<\/strong><\/p>\n OneWorld School-Based Health Centers do not provide emergency services.
