What is Omaha Like?
Omaha is the largest city in Nebraska. It resides on the eastern border of the state across the Missouri River from Council Bluffs, Iowa. The city has a wide range of historic and new neighborhoods, as well as a large number of suburban communities.
The Omaha – Council Bluffs metropolitan area has a population greater than 900,000. Omaha is the home of five Fortune 500 companies, several colleges and universities, two medical schools, the world-class Henry Doorly Zoo, a symphony orchestra and an opera company, a number of professional and community theaters and several museums.
