At an awards ceremony at the La Vista Conference Center on Oct. 9, 2018, OneWorld Community Health Centers received a 2018 Better Business Bureau (BBB) Integrity Award.

According to the BBB, these awards recognize companies that “go ‘above and beyond’ in serving their customers, employees and communities.” Unlike other awards, BBB’s Integrity Awards focus on demonstrated ethical business practices rather than on a company’s growth, profitability or popularity. The 2018 Integrity Award winners were chosen by an independent panel of judges consisting of metro Omaha business leaders and members of the academic community.

“BBB’s Integrity Award Winners have shown that ethics and integrity are core values of their organization,” Jim Hegarty, president and chief executive officer of Better Business Bureau, Inc. serving Nebraska, South Dakota, The Kansas Plains and Southwest Iowa, said. “The 2018 BBB Integrity Award Winners join an elite group of organizations that realize dealing fairly and honestly with employees, customers and partners are central to profitability and growth. They serve as role models for all businesses located in Omaha, and the Better Business Bureau Foundation is pleased to honor them with this prestigious award.”

OneWorld’s Chief Executive Officer, Andrea Skolkin, accepted the award during the ceremony.

“Winning the 2018 BBB Integrity Award demonstrates to the greater community that our values drive our work,” Skolkin said. “To us, integrity means staying true to our mission. If we stay focused and continue to do what’s right for underserved populations while maintaining strong ethical business practices, our organization will remain sustainable and be able to care for children and families for many more years to come.”
