June is Men’s Health Month, so it’s a great time for men to schedule wellness checkups at OneWorld!
According to www.menshealthmonth.org, the purpose of Men’s Health Month is “to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and treatment of disease among men and boys.” At OneWorld, we know that women are more likely to visit the doctor than men, so we want to ensure that men and boys feel comfortable seeking regular medical advice and early treatment for diseases, injuries and other health problems.
On the Friday before Father’s Day, our staff participated in #WearBlueDay (or #WearBlueFriday) in order to help raise awareness among men about the importance of preventive care and staying healthy. We want men in our community to know that OneWorld is here to help them with annual exams, chronic disease care, health education, health screenings and more.
According to the Men’s Health Resource Center, some of the most common men’s health issues include the following:
- Cardiovascular health
- Diabetes management
- Mental health
- Nutrition and/or obesity
- Prostate health
- Sexual and reproductive health
Our staff is equipped to help men with all of these health concerns and more so that they can live happier, longer lives. In addition to providing top-quality care, our clinics also offer affordable appointments and services. We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, most forms of insurance, Medicare and Medicaid. If patients are without insurance, we base our charges on a sliding fee scale based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines for a family of four. Fees may vary based on eligibility, family size and gross monthly income. To learn more about payment options at OneWorld, visit http://bit.ly/OneWorldPayment.
