At OneWorld, all expectant and new mothers can attend prenatal appointments or classes, and when they attend, they receive “baby bucks” to spend on baby essentials from our Baby Boutique.
In 2020, we were able to provide 1,753 women with high-quality prenatal care.
About the Baby Boutique
Prenatal care decreases the likelihood of preterm births, birth defects and other harm to new mothers and babies.
Our Baby Boutique , located in the Livestock Exchange campus’ South Tower, helps low-income, underserved families prepare for newborns by providing them with essential items. Every time expecting families attend prenatal and newborn appointments or classes, they earn “baby bucks” to spend in our Boutique. With baby essentials as incentives, the Baby Boutique encourages new mothers to seek early and consistent prenatal care. The Boutique is designed to help women who might otherwise go without care because they are uninsured as recent immigrants or refugees, cannot afford regular care, do not speak English as their first language or are unaware of the benefits of prenatal care.
Over the past two years, OneWorld patients have visited the Baby Boutique more than 2,850 times to receive basic necessities such as onesies, diapers, socks, blankets and bibs. Volunteers welcome patients on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The Boutique was initiated by generous support from Senator Gwen Howard, Lozier Corporation, March of Dimes, the Omaha Community Foundation and the Amy L. Scott Foundation, and it continues to be supported by donors like you!
