Courtney Allen Cowardin

Associate Medical Director of Women’s Health Services

Courtney Cowardin earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology in 1996 and nursing in 2000 from Creighton University. In 2004, she received her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Washington–Seattle.

Her passion for helping eliminate barriers to care began while spending time educating people in rural communities in the Dominican Republic about disease processes, hygiene and basic medical care through the Institute for Latin American Concern at Creighton University.

Cowardin works at OneWorld as a nurse midwife and currently serves as the Associate Medical Director of Women’s Health Services. Prior to becoming a midwife, her experience includes working as an oncology and hospice nurse at Methodist Health Systems, a postpartum nurse at Creighton University Medical Center and a registered nurse in labor and delivery at Northwest Community Hospital Childbirth Center in Seattle, Washington.

Cowardin is passionate about helping patients with food insecurities gain access to free or low-cost food through the Saving Grace program.
