An Inside Look
Jen Houng, DDS, grew up working with her parents in the restaurant business. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Creighton University in 2000, she continued her education and graduated in 2005 with her doctor of dental surgery degree.
Over the course of her 17 years as a practicing dentist, Dr. Houng has worked in the Indian Health Service and private dental practices. Dr. Houng can speak English, Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.
Dr. Houng joined the OneWorld Community Health Centers dental team in 2012. At OneWorld, she works at the Livestock Exchange Health campus as well as the Northwest clinic with Creighton Dental School students.
She also provides dental care on the OneWorld Smiles and FlouRide dental mobiles.
Outside of work, Dr. Houng enjoys doing puzzles, reading, cooking and spending time with her two children and her “fur baby,” MooShu.
The OneWorld dental mobiles visit area schools and other community locations to provide care for children who might otherwise go without services. By visiting schools, the dental mobiles allow children to receive on-site dental care, helping children stay in school and get the necessary care they need for healthy smiles.
