Teen Dating Awareness Month – We Are Here to Help

OneWorld Teen & Young Adult Health Centers Clinicians

February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month (TDVAM). At OneWorld Teen and Young Adult Health Centers (TYAHC) we are here to be a resource – Promoting positive physical, emotional, mental and sexual health. Join us in taking a stand against teen dating violence.

Talk About It

  • What are warning signs of dating abuse?
  • What makes a healthy relationship?
  • What unhealthy relationship traits are portrayed through media?

It is alarming to learn that youth age 12 to 19 experience the highest rates of rape and sexual assault in our country.  According to studies, approximately 10% of adolescents report being the victim of physical violence at the hands of an intimate partner. Experiencing violence in a relationship can affect your physical and mental health.  It is possible to struggle with long-term behavioral and health consequences, including suicide attempts, eating disorders, and drug use.

Together, we can raise the nation’s awareness about teen dating violence and promote safe, healthy relationships. Come visit us at our OneWorld Teen & Young Adult Health Centers located in south and west Omaha.
